Then again, this IS Takahashi-sama we’re talkin’bout over here. The ONLY anime series by her I’ve ever seen come to a solid end was Maison Ikkokou. Now, I’ve not seen the end of the Inuyasha Manga series, and know that this anime serie is supposed to end where the manga series ends as well, but it won’t surprise me a bit if even this “final episode” is still open-ended. I’m just sayin’, yo.

Good luck with the last episode. Hopefully a good enough RAW shows up soon. Have really done a great job with the series. Already read the manga before the Final Act started, but I’m still excited to see the ending animated. Now just a question of patiently waiting.
Take your time, guys. You’re really doing a great job here. And I kind of agree with LizuKrazy. I read the manga almost two years ago so I know how it ends, however I really enjoyed the series and I’m a little depressed that it’s over.
Yeah I was thinking to myself, I almost don’t want to watch the final episode because that means it’s finally over…which made me both overjoyed that they finally ended it and then sad that there was no more… It made me wish that they drew out some of the more key scenes a bit more as a lot of it felt very “condensed” to me.
I was thinking that myself. “Inuyasha’s” first season was probably the only anime I’ve ever seen with fillers that were great and really funny. That’s why I thought it’s kind of lame that Kanketsuhen had only 26 episodes, which sure were fun, but I wouldn’t mind if the last season was longer :> Not to mention I hated the opening and endings, while the old ones were soooo much better ;P
im really starting to doubt if any HD raws will show up i think you’ll just have to settle for a ts file if you find one maybe at PD(Perfect Dark)

Unfortunately, @foryou might be right. I’ve been checking outevery day for a new raw and the only one I could find was the same one that @sumystar posted earlier.
Besides, I don’t want to watch the final episode on some crappy streaming site, it will just ruin the overall experience.

animeaddicts has a hungarian sub of 26 @1280×720 listed on their site. i dont know where the fuck they got the raw as i couldnt download the ep due to itbeing a membership only dl site, but im going to try translating to hungarian and searching for a raw, they had to get the thing somewhere. if i fing it, i will post a link

At this time, we don’t plan to release a Batch as all of our downloads have MU links and torrents as well as XDCC through IRC. I have my raw providers as well as myself checking not only TT and Nyaa but PD and any other places they know of as well. I have gone so far as to set up PD myself and have a search continually running. When I get a decent RAW I will release. Though don’t forget, once I get a raw I still will need to encode the Kara adjust timing and all the other magical stuff I do before release.
But this whole thing about the raw is getting quite mysterious. Think about it : this was the most awaited episode of the InuYasha Kanketsu-hen series. There should have been tons of raw files floating arounD by now ! Hm… maybe the aliens kidnapped the raw providers as a way to declare war to all the InuYasha fans in the world. MUHAHAHA!!!!
Or mebbe the RAW provider(s) got depressed, REALLY DEPRESSED, after watching the FINALE an’ offed themselves?

Since I intend to mux in the english audio to create dual audio versions when it becomes available only softsubs will work. I agree that many english dubbs are awful, but watching the old episodes in english with the subtitles ON shows that in this case they did a decent job. Agree with CYC comment of April 5 re too bad it is so condensed. Considering the end of the manga R.T. needed to develop/mature the characters, esp. Inu/Kag. Maybe add a ‘filler’ episode during the period that the well is gone.

There is gonna be a spin off series with Rin and Kohaku but it will be about 10 years later. They will be this pair of great yokai exterminators. Rin will be out to exterminate the entire wolf yokai clan of Kouga. Kirara and Ah/Un will also be in it with occasional appearances by Jaken and Sesshoumaru. Can’t wait

That’s basically what happened in the last episode. Kind of a huge spoiler but I got tired of waiting and settled for a crappier release. I always feel sad right after I finish a great series. It makes me want to find a new anime and start watching that which I probably will.
My last post came out bad. I don’t mean Kanketsuhen subs are bad, in fact they are amazing. So please don’t take offense to my last post.

I’ll be the jerk here. This sort of thing (fansubbing with a group of followers) is really an unspoken social contract. We agree to follow your posts, download your work, provide praise, and make you a bigger player in the “scene”. In exchange you agree to post in a reasonable amount of time and not leave the group hanging… especially not abandon a project uncompleted (like I recently experienced with TimeLesSubs and Meitante No Okite with only 2 eps to go!). I’m sorry you feel bad, but buck up buddy! Its the very LAST episode. And next time, rethink whether you really want to start such a project that your obviously tired of. At this point Kanketsuhen Fansub is who ends up looking bad…

I’ll be a jaded cynical bastard here and make the observation that it’d be immensely ironic if it turns out Cyc had died.
Jeez… people are soooo impatient. Relax and step outside while waiting for the release. Inuyasha is not the last anime on Earth to be shown and you will enjoy that last episode more if you enjoy something else in the meantime (happiness is transferred from one thing to another you know).
I could have copied down the official translation and rendered my own from the raw by now. Its not impatience as I can watch it on hulu, and frankly only needed this copy for archiving. Its simply rude to say that you will do something, and then decide its too tedious to do and make up excuses why it can’t be done. If you don’t believe me, try it with a few friends or better your significant other and see how long you retain that person in your life. If ya don’t want to do it, then quit… and someone else will take your place. I would have to think twice before relying on Kanketsuhen Fansub for another project or recommending to others.

I was really looking forward to finishing the series strong with Kanketsuhen Subs but after waiting 9 days to get this last episode I feel tired of waiting -_-
It’s not a matter of impatience or some “unspoken social contract”, Stephen. I’m a translator myself, so I know that it takes time and guess what – since you are not paid or anything, you don’t have to spend your free time doing something you don’t want to do at this very moment.
Well, we have currently in Poland national mourning because of our president’s tragic death so I’m not going to watch any shows this week anyway and I’m just cheering up my favourite Inu-subbers, but I think you are really overreacting. Taka fansubs just finished translating the 19th (yes, 19th!) episode of “Inuyasha” and I keep downloading their stuff because I like to compare translations. That’s why I appreciate Kanketsuhen Fansub job even more. Apart from this break they were really working fast doing an excellent job.

I downloaded the Ankoku 1080 raw and it is terrible. There are audio and video dropouts and the coding is bad enough that 3 different players hang when I try to pause playback. Leopard Raws just posted a nice clean-looking 720p raw last night. It’s hard to produce a quality sub if the raw has flaws. Today may be the first full day a good raw was available.
Hopefully better starting material will make it easier to encode a decent episode.

I’m not calling names here. You make yourself look bad by doing so. I have a copy now. This site doesn’t have its own capper, so the picture quality has little to do with their work. For that matter there is already an official Viz English translation. All they have to do is time the subs to the raw and render. The one that is losing out here is not me but the reputation of this site which is being destroyed on their very last release. Anyone who has followed this is aware that the other two admins had given up on him on at least one other time when he up and disappeared for days with no update…

Stop complaining about how a sub group does or does not hold up to your standards dude. You can’t hold other people responsible for your expectations. This group has been doing a fantastic job!! Im sure they have a good reason for the delay. And even if they don’t, thats not our business. We follow a fansub group because of a common appreciation of their quality, not because of any contract, Spoken or not. If youre impatient or overly anxious and think its so easy, go create your own fansub man. These guys are doing it out of fun and for free. I dont think anyone hear has any right to complain.
How about sum1 go on IRC and try to get ahold of either Cyc, or sum1 who knows Cyc, and report back here, to the rest of us, who can’t be bothered to go on IRC, as 2 wut’s goin’ on?
Me, personally, I’ve got other things to concern myself with and am perfectly fine giving these guys all the latitude they need, so long as EVENTUALLY they come out w/ the sortuv quality product we’re all expecting.
Now, is there a part of me that feels Stephen’s impatience? Perhaps, but then again I remember what it was like trying to watch nth-generation copies of Ranma 1/2 fansubs on VHS.
What these guys do is a FREE SERVICE to us fans, and unless you’ve made substantial donations to their efforts, or entered with them in some kinduv contractual obligation, then I don’t see any valid basis to make complaints.
When you choose to limit the way you follow an anime series to fan-subbers, there’s the inherent possibility that if things go wrong w/ the group, that’s gonna screw w/ your ability to follow the series. But when you consider the alternative, following it via “official industry releases” or “release by hack’n'slash get-it-out-there-first-damn-the-quality fan-sub group,” more often than not you’re just left w/ a sub-standard product and experience, or if the final “official industry release” is of good quality, it’s out usually much later than a the quality fan-subs. So I choose to wait for a quality fan-sub release.
Fine, let’s assume the worst and say ep 26 by this group is “delayed indefinitely.” At least there’re still other sources. So, ne1 wanna place bets whether these guys release ep 26 before Taka? Mebbe we should start a betting pool?
Well I think the only possibility is that Cyc is still feeling pretty bad especially if no update has been made. I’m sure we’ll have the episode fairly soon it’s just a question of health and feeling up to it. Besides as fans we’ve been waiting for the end of this series for years so I really don’t think a few days will make a difference.
Will just leave another get well soon message to Cyc.

Yeah have to agree with you there. Losing it like that isn’t going to help anything. Cyc is working on it, but there are such things as having a life and obviously there is the physical situation going on as well. The episode will get done. Just have to be patient. Not going to help anything by leaving those kinds of messages, not great motivational material.

We thank you kanketsuhen team for Inuyasha 'Act-Finale', we must come to realise that Cyc also has a life instead of sitting in front of the PC subbing anime ~ the post says that he isn't responding, maybe he is busy with something else at the moment. I have complete faith in Cyc that he will come back and enlighten us in due time [unless Cyc gets data-drained...thats a different story if you know what I mean].
Also, bear in mind that the quality of the subs you have provided with us so far for prior episodes is already very-very good, so I really don’t mind if Ep 26 is something along those lines thats great too, it doesn’t have to be 9999% insanely perfect ~ Im not a perfectionist ~ as long as the subs are understandable English Its all good =D

Frankly speaking, I think what they’re doing are more than necessary. To me, as long as the translation and timing are accurate, video and audio quality is moderate like their previous episodes, I don’t see the need to make just the 1 last episode perfect thus delaying the completion of the series. I mean if we want the best quality, we will go buy the DVD. I would rather they spent the time on subbing ep 1-4 as well as encode ep 5-12 in mp4 to complete the series.
Alright times up. Now they’re just trolling us. Gonna go watch a different sub.
What other fansubs ? Taka is t he 18′th episode, and Otaku Legends have subbed only the first 11 episode by far. I guess I could settle with a high quality raw, since I’ve already read the manga. Or I might try to rip the subs from SHIN’s or Go Go Aime files and try putting them on the said raw file. What do you think about this ?
I hope they’re will not be like the group that subbed Kyou Kara Maou (those have watched the series will know who), that group have delayed the series for months after the show had completed.

To Cyc and Kanketsuhen Fansubs in general
Since I first started downloading anime (i think a bit before Moon Phase was Brand New) via Direct downloads or Torrents from fansub sites I started relying on certain fansub groups and followed their site for releases of new anime. I Wanted to stick with those specific groups as much as I could because I appreciated their quality and expediency in their releases. Obviously Static-subs, Eclipse, and Dattebayo are among those. Now, Horrible-subs GG and Kanketsu-hen have joined the ranks in my opinion.
I dont know your physical condition, but it sounds rather serious and I hope you pull through. Pain and symptoms are a subjective matter, so even if you were to type out what your condition is, we as readers may undermine the severity of your “pain”. I suffer from debilitating migraines myself and have been stuck in bed for months at a time with the same migraine, unable to focus/concentrate on any real work or even things that I enjoy doing. Ive never had a project where a wide range of strangers were relying on me, but I can assure you I would be a major let down during my down times. So please know that there are some of us that appreciate the possibilities of your circumstances.
As a the term “fansub group” implies, usually there is group of individuals that work the video projects. Your situation may be different. Yours may just “Fansub Guy”, which if thats the case more power to ya. You’ve been doing a fantastic job by yourself. If you do, however, have a group, would it be possible to rely, or rather to delegate one of your team members to temporarily take your role? As fans of Kanketsu-hens work, we have two interests in the matter. We earnestly desire your well being, and hope that you feel better. But primarily we are looking forward to what your hard work produces, the next episode. I don’t know how Fansub Groups work, I dont know how they are organized. We all assume that you would have already done this if it were an option, but again id like you to consider delegating the work to a team member. If Cyc is not available, then one of the team members could possible step up to take on the project. Im not familiar with how to sub myself, but I learn quickly. If there is anyway I can help, I would like to.
We could go to Hulu, but I think every one wants an MKV really. Something that allows for transfer to a Droid or a PSP. Something that has a high quality Video for use in AMVs. “We won’t be releasing episode 26 soon enough, maybe we won’t be releasing it at all…” isnt an option. Dont just throw your hands up out of frustration. We are Cheering for you!!!

As I said before the Shins release is decent. I have an 8′ screen in my viewing room. If the shins looks ok on that, then it will do… and it does. Not pristine, but very watchable.

srsly much better subs but they release slower(which is not so bad since it’s in a 1-2 week per ep basis)

Personal health is more important than any subs. Cyc been having health problems, Im sure once hes ok he’ll release the final episode.
One thing I know for sure, if I was sick and people started complaining, I would lose all my will to do it ASAP…

fwiw, I used their web client to go on IRC, and Commander A hisself sed that Cyc is dead.
This is simply unfair writing things like “maybe we won’t be releasing it at all” knowing just as well as we do, that Cyc isn’t feeling well. Personally I’m fine with waiting for Taka to release the last episode if you’re really going to drop the project. I’m patient. But you can see +100 comments where people are saying that they actually can wait as long as it takes. For the last weeks Cyc was updating this post a few times, and most of people were able to understand his circumstances, and here you are with threats “we won’t releasing it at all” because you couldn’t contact Cyc for how long? Three days? Four? Because that’s how much time passed since he wrote for the last time. How old are you, seven, to react this way?

I’m truly sorry for posting “maybe we won’t be releasing it at all”. But yeah that’s the truth. Something has happened to Cyc, and I am unable to contact him from the past 10 days (sometimes because I’m busy… sometimes it’s the time zone difference). As the group leader I have the responsibility to say that it’ll get delayed… like forever. I wouldn’t have posted that if I would have spoken to Cyc, which I’m still trying like hell. I live in Asia and he stays in US. The only way I can contact him economically is by YM / mail, and he isn’t responding.
I’m pretty sure I could sub the last episode on facial expressions alone. Let me know if I can give you a hand.

Hey ! I just began working on the 26′th episode. I’m not doing much,just ripping the subs from SHIN and putting them on that Leopart raw file ( the 720p one). I everything goes well, It will be finished by tomorrow. The subs will be the same, but quality of the video file will be much higher. I hope this helps ^_^

I knew a guy who had to go in for Dialysis every few days, and the procedure took almost an entire day. But his situation got so bad that he basically was faced with a “New Kidney or Death” dilemma. I relly hope Cyc is okay.

No, I’m not part of Kanketsu-hen. I’m doing this on my free will. And it is also my first try to do something like this. So whatever I manage to do, it will be far from perfect. No karaoke and no flying colored letters since I have yet to figure out how to do them.

Just wanted you all to know that Cyc is ok and alive. He is feeling sick at the moment, more than usual, and he says that he will be back on his feet by tomorrow hopefully. This is all the information I have on him so far, and if any of you think that this is a troll then all I have to say is believe what you want.

@cyc Enough with the apologies, you owe no one an “i’m sorry”. your obviously very sick, and still trying to finish this episode; with episodes of your own being bedridden to complicate things. the ep is second fiddle, and a far stretch one at that, its that simple. anyone who finds themselves in a position to judge or become angry IMHO can honestly go f*ck themselves with a razor wire wrapped, HCl dipped; spiked mace of atleast 6 ft length! thankfully there really aren’t any people here who aren’t understanding. i’m impressed by your dedication and willingness to work on it at all in the kind of shape it sounds like you are in! if i may ask, what condition are you battling? my mother is one of the best nurses in this country and also has extensively explored alternative medicine due to my little brother suffering from duchens muscular dystrophy, which completely decimates and breaks down the human muscle system. when he was diagnosed, my little brother wasn’t supposed to walk past 8, he was supposed to be on a ventilator(supplementary oxygen at first) at around 15-16, and be dead by 20. he is now nearly 20, no ventilator and actually regaining muscular strength due to my mothers diligence in not only the prescribed medical care, but also in coming up with an herbal treatment regiment that restored some of what his body couldn’t produce leading to his muscular breakdown. he’s healthier than most who are much younger with the genetic illness(genetic mutation in his case odds like 1 in a million or something absurd like that. with knowledge of what your battling, i could ask her what she knows and offer advice, or vitamin tips, or whatever she can muster. if you do not wish to disclose it widely you can also email me, which is registered with the site once i post, i think. well god bless, your in my prayers and get well soon man. anything i can do to make a difference, just say so!

People HAVE their lives outside the Internet and I guess in most cases it’s fine to wait a little longer for subtitles. Especially since we know what your current condition is and cheering is one thing, but I guess it’s fine if you need more rest. Take care of yourself.
I’m going on a trip tomorrow, so I will be offline for the next week, but I hope you will feel better (and that’s the top priority here!) and, if possible, upload the last episode ;)
By the way, I know what the situation here is, but do you by any chance consider any new project? Someone wrote a suggestion about “Fairy Tail” and, god, that would be awesome if you’re interested, motivated and able to do it.

For everyone thats anxious to see the episode, I just watched it on Hulu and the quality was VERY Good, and I had it ported to my 42″ LCD TV. I am still anxious to get Kanketsuhens release, But in order to relieve some of the pressure and fulfill your satisfaction for now, Hulu is a great temp fix lol. The episode is SO good. For those of you that are patient enough to wait for Cyc and Kanketsuhens release, you will NOT be disappointed.

Can’t you read? I watched the SHINs version almost a month ago why the hell would I want to sub it myself? For me a mix of speed and quality is fine which SHINs is. I will buy the Blu Ray box set later this year when I want quality or wait for the TAKA version whichever comes first.

Commander`A’s internet died. I was up working on it and just like I can reply here, I can also make a simple post like I have been doing. If you guys don’t believe my health problems that’s fine. I am not asking anyone to believe me or not believe me. I gave FlareKnight the final muxed encode minus the script and will give him a Patch and have him QC it for me when I get finished with all the timing adjustments. I know this is all beyond ridiculous and for that I am sorry.
I work on a Fire Department and in my country we also do medical care (dont know how it is on other countrys), but bottom line is, I know when people are in pain its 10x harder to acomplish anything, and just the fact Cyc is trying to do this, even knowing others already released and there are people already moaming about it, gives him even more credit!!!
If you have the Taka or whatever release, is there a reason to still comment here? Is your need for attention that big? Cause I wouldnt have any reason to get back here if that the case!

How can you say the Shins release is quality? It’s crap, filled with stupid typos and with Comic Sans no less. It’s plain, even more horrible than HorribleSubs would ever be.
Besides, after waiting for many weeks, I predict that the psychology of those who are still waiting for Cyc’s release will refuse to register any other subber’s release as the real closure for the series, because the wait is still not over — Cyc hasn’t yet done his. A release by someone else would be like a massive spoiler.
Entitlement isn’t sexy, guys. Knock it off and go watch Hulu to tide yourselves over until Cyc finishes this. He doesn’t have to do anything for the viewers, especially since some of you are acting like such snots about it.
Cyc, we appreciate you doing this even though your health is less than optimal right now. Last year I had back and neck problems that made my entire torso including my hands go numb which made performing the simplest tasks almost impossible for two months, so I know how irritating it is when you want to sit down and get something done but your body fights you every step of the way. While some people continue to rant and bitch about the wait, the rest of us will just keep checking back patiently to see how you’re doing.

@Skeptics: For the skeptics out there, on Ryuumaru’s site I have been marked as “Retired” despite still having full access to everything and commander`A still getting me to help with misc things here and there. That means that I am not up for actually editing anything but if he pastes a line and says “check this” I usually can muster the energy to do so. Also posting the donation thing was a message that was left for me to do (several days before I actually did it). I know you guys will believe what you will, but it’s not like I am getting a penny from the donations for Ryuumaru, I just set it up and am managing it for them.
Despite my health going from bad to worse and fluctuating all the time, I try to do anything I can to keep active and even though I can physically get up the energy to go for a walk, sitting up in bed and working on the computer, is what I try to do to keep my mind off the pain. Sadly even that is too much at times.
Well enough of a break, onto line 106 for me.

Cyc, I too have been suffering due to health conditions for a few years now. My neck and shoulder areas have developed muscle knots and gives me really painful headaches. It took the doctors over 2 years to realize what the actual cause of the pain was. Give yourself plenty of rest when your body just can’t take anymore of it. Once in a while do go outside for a walk to refresh your mind. I wish your health problems go away soon. Take care.
